nombreux animaux contient
oral-aboral. Chez beaucoup
de tridermiques, il s’agit de
l’axe antéro-postérieur.
L’étude comparée du développement
laisse donc supposer que l’axe oral-aboral
des animaux didermiques correspond
à l’axe antéro-postérieur des tridermiques.
En termes évolutifs, cette idée a
une implication importante : l’aptitude
à modeler l’embryon suivant un axe
primaire aurait été acquise par un ancêtre
commun de tous les animaux actuels.
Pour ce précurseur, l’innovation décisive
aurait consisté à localiser à proximité
du pôle végétatif de l’oeuf
un ensemble de macromolécules capables
de susciter dans l’embryon une onde
morphogène progressant vers le pôle
animal. La direction de la propagation
définit l’axe primaire du futur
organisme. | fr |
dc.description.abstract | Most Metazoa have a main somatic polarity. Diploblasts have only one polarity. Many of them are radially organized around an axis of symmetry defined by the position of the mouth. This axis is known as the oral-aboral axis. All triploblasts have an anterior-posterior and a dorsal-ventral polarity. The animal's primary polarity becomes established early in development. Although isotropic by shape, a typical metazoan egg has a clear polarity, since its animal pole differs from its vegetal pole. Various experiments demonstrate that the egg of many animals contains instructions required to specify the primary polarity of tile embryo. These instructions consist of cortex-bound macromolecules, called determinants. In the simplest cases, the determinants are localized in the vegetal hemisphere and apparently distributed symmetrically with respect to the animal-vegetal axis of the egg. The egg axis determines the primary axis of the embryo, which is the oral-aboral axis in diploblasts, and the anterior-posterior axis in most triploblasts. These correlations strongly suggest that the oral-aboral axis of the diploblasts corresponds to the anterior-posterior axis of the triploblasts. In evolutionary terms, this hypothesis implies that a common ancestor of all living Metazoa was already able to organize its own embryo along a primary axis. This could be done by concentrating determinants near the egg's vegetal pole. During early development the determinants are thought to trigger a directional wave of morphogenesis, which progresses towards the animal pole, thereby specifying primary axis of the embryo. | en |
