Effects of pesticides on health : New data
Résumé
This document presents a summary of the work of a group of
experts brought together by the French National Institute for
Health and Medical Research (Inserm) to conduct a collective
expert review on the effects of pesticides on
human health, originally published in French.1
The review was performed at the request of five Directorates
General of the French government: the Directorate General for
Risk Prevention, the Directorate General for Health, the Directorate
General for Labor, the Directorate General for Research
and Innovation, and the General Secretariat of the Ministry of
Agriculture and Food.
This work, based on the academic literature available as of the
first quarter of 2020, updates a collective expert report entitled
Pesticides : Effets sur la santé published by Inserm in 2013. Over
5,300 documents were compiled through searches of various
bibliographic databases including PubMed/Medline, Scopus,
and Cairn and through complementary literature
searches carried out by the experts.
The work was coordinated by the Collective Expert Reports
Unit of Inserm, which is part of its Public Health Thematic
Institute.
